Welcome to the Tennessee Aquarium Conservation Institute – Teen Camp

Conservation Leadership in Action Week (CLAW)

Dig your claws in for an intensive, week-long overnight summer camp with scientists from the Tennessee Aquarium Conservation Institute. During the week, we’ll explore conservation problems and solutions in Chattanooga. We’ll also use our time to paddle, hike, snorkel, and bike outside to learn more about the animals that share their home with us. We’ll sample local foods and learn how to prepare meals that are healthy for you and our environment. Simultaneously, students will work in small groups with conservation leaders and teachers in our community to develop projects that can be instituted in their own neighborhoods when they leave camp. We’ll use this as a springboard for a year-round science club so you can continue your development as a conservation hero.

CLAW will start on Sunday, July 8 at 5 pm and end on Saturday, July 14 at 1 pm with a family lunch as part of our closing activities. Students will live in the dorms at Baylor School and use their classrooms as a base for our activities. The total cost is $700. Full and partial scholarships are available for those in need of assistance.
